The November 7th Artwalk show at Blue Door Arts is titled “Women Focused: Ceramics + Mixed Media Assemblage” featuring four Wyoming women artists: Ceramics works by Margaret K Haydon of Laramie, Monika Andrews of Lander and Terry Kreuzer of Cheyenne along with the Mixed Media Assemblage by Tracy Duck and Terry Kreuzer, both of Cheyenne.

Ceramics pieces range in clay, firing process and themes: Haydon’s ceramics are cast porcelain featuring her signature “sturgeon fish” pieces reflecting on its species’ longevity on earth; Andrews’s ceramics are large-scale functional thrown stoneware vessels, gas-fired with iconic design images of western wildlife; Kreuzer’s ceramics are hand-built Raku vessels with recycled metal components and wax-resist calligraphy designs.

Duck’s mixed media assemblages are created from found and recycled objects re-fashioned into objects of punk art, fantasy, armored clothing and vignettes exploring people and their past lives. Kreuzer’s mixed media assemblages are large-scale and intimate utilizing found and recycled materials and objects exploring a range of personal iconic imagery and themes.

The show will run from October 10 – November 9th, 2019 with two more receptions from 5-8pm all on Thursdays: November 7th for the special Wyoming Arts Summit Artwalk, and on November 14th for the usual second Thursday of the month Cheyenne Artwalk.
